Additional Application Server Installation in SAP

We can install one or more Additional Application Server instance for an SAP System. Additional Application Server instances are optional and can be installed on separate hosts.  

We are installing Additional Application Server (AAS) system based on ECC 6 ERP 6 EHP 8 System

Download SWPM from SAP Service marketplace 



In this case we are using SWPM 1.0 SP31 for NW Higher than 7.0X for our installation
This will different depends on your system release

UNCAR the downloaded file using sapcar command 
Command - sapcar -xvf FileName 

Execute sapinst.exe to start the Installation


Login to SWPM using 'administrator' user & password (for unix\linux - root user)

SWPM has opened in the browser,
In Unix we need to copy the SWPM url from command line & manually past in browser 

Information of the SWPM

Goto below location for AAS Installation, this will depend on System type & Release 

---> SAP Business Suite 7i 2016
---> EHP8 for SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP
---> SAP ASE
---> Installation
---> Additional SAP System Instances
---> Additional Application Server Instance

Choose Next,

Select  Custom 

Select the Profile directory & Installation drive then Next,

Choose the master password then Next,

Select the option if you want to install/upgrade the host agent in the host then Next,

Select the installation media location then Next,

Select the host agent installation media location then Next,

Give Additional Application Server Instance Number & host name then Next,

Select 'don not create message server access control list' (If you want to create the access control then use the 1st option)  Next,

Confirm the given parameter list then Next, 
Now the installation wills start

We can check the status using task list option on the right side of the window, 

Installation In-progress,
We can check the logs using  Log files option on the right side of the window, 

Installation Completed successfully,
Choose OK

AAS Installation completed,
Use EXIT option 

Check the newly installed AAS Services status using sapcontrol command or by MMC
Command - sapcontrol -nr <Instance Number> -function GetProcessList
